BOOSTING DOCUMENTARIES FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES:
D4K announces a new training for children’s documentary filmmakers
Filmmakers can now apply to a newly launched European training focused on the creation of children’s documentaries. In the framework of the D4K-Docs For Kids Alliance, the IDFA-International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (NL) and DOXS RUHR (DE) – documentary festival for young audiences, in cooperation with Forum für Kultur und Bildung Leipzig (DE), have developed a pilot edition of a training initiative for documentary filmmakers. Taking place in Amsterdam from November 17th – 21st, the program is aimed at directors and producers who are passionate about creative documentaries for children. The training is open to twelve participants from Flanders, Germany and Poland. Furthermore, three Dutch filmmakers will join the programme.
Successful applicants will receive specialised training in creating children’s documentaries through screenings, workshops and personal tutoring at the Goethe-Institute Amsterdam. The program also includes free accommodation, travel costs and free entry to selected IDFA industry events. Focusing on networking, inspiration and project development, the collaborating partners aim to encourage international co-productions, mutual exchange and to strengthen collaborative working ties and boost the children's creative documentary sector as a whole.
Directors and producers can apply 3rd of July until 15th of August.
